Pastoral Care

As we share together in the life of the church at Willesborough, God makes us aware of our responsibility to reach out and care for each other within the church family, and the community around us.
We recognise that life can become a little difficult at times for all of us and it is at those times that we often could do with additional support whether this is on a practical level in a crisis or some advice and support.

We have a small team of volunteers who have offered their time and skills to support people in such situations in the following areas:–

DIY Decorating Child Minding Visiting Prayer Support
Ironing School Runs Cooking / Providing meals Painting
Housework Babysitting Car Maintenance Gardening
Shopping Transport Form Filling Dog Walking

Through the backgrounds and in some cases the personal experience of some of our Church family we can also offer support for the following: –

Financial concerns Domestic violence Bereavement counselling
Legal issues Miscarriage Mental health
Alcohol abuse Counselling Social care

We also believe that Prayer is an essential tool in our armour – sometimes we feel unable to pray for ourselves but within the Pastoral Care Team there are a number of people that would be happy to pray with you or for you.
We also have an email prayer chain where over 20 people will all pray for you.

If any of the above support would be helpful please contact June Ashman.
Contact details for June are available from the Church Office 01233 632739

It is important to feel comfortable and welcome on your first visit to us, and in the subsequent weeks. To this end we have appointed a group of people whose responsibility is to be aware of those who have just begun to worship with us. They can provide a booklet that can be helpful in answering any immediate questions. They will also introduce those new to the church to other worshippers.
We hold regular 'Newcomers Teas,' where a more detailed explanation of life at WBC is shared.
One of the best ways of feeling part of the church is to join a ' Small Group.'

Natters' provides a time where we, and those from the surrounding area, can come and enjoy each others company, over a cup of coffee and some home made cake. Once a month a lunch is provided. There are always members around to listen and pray for those in need.

Stepping Stones Contact Centre

Children of separated parents need to meet regularly with the absent parent. Some separated couples may be under a Court Order to ensure the children enjoy the company of the parent who does not normally have care of them. The main problem for many couples in this situation is finding a suitable place to meet. This sometimes needs to be a place where the parents themselves choose not to meet each other. The Stepping Stones Contact Centre provides neutral ground where parents can leave children with the separated partner. more
