Child Protection

The issue of child protection is very much to the fore these days, and here at Willesborough Baptist Church we believe that as God's people we have a clear obligation to do all we can to ensure that children in our care are protected from harm of all kinds. In order to achieve this, the church has approved a child protection policy and adopted guidelines on child protection for the local church and its youth leaders, produced by the Baptist Union and known as ' Safe to Grow '. The church has also appointed a Child Protection Officer, to oversee the appointment of children's workers and provide training in child protection issues.

National organisations which form part of the church's youth work, operate child protection policies relative to that organisation. Additionally, all children's workers are required to apply for an Enhanced Certificate from the Criminal Records Bureau. We hope that this procedure will both reassure parents and ensure the protection of workers and children.

Any person wishing to volunteer to work with children will be interviewed informally by the Child Protection Officer and the organisational leader concerned. He or she is then required to complete an application form and references are taken up before the volunteer starts work with the children

No personal information will be listed on this website without explicit permission from the Members and Visitors. Personal information includes information that would allow a third party to find or contact the Members and Visitors without contacting Willesborough Baptist Church.

Children and Young People

While it is important to reflect the full mix of participation in church worship and other activities, we take care to ensure the safety of children and young people.

When using photographs of children and young people, we prefer to use group pictures. (or photographs from a resource website)
Children and young people under the age of 18 will not be identified by surname or other personal details. These details include e-mail or postal addresses, telephone or fax numbers.

Photographs

Permission to use photographs or digital images in the promotion of Willesborough Baptist Church or Willesborough Baptist Church activities is not implied, and where an individual is identifiable permission will be requested for use of the photograph.

Photographs shall never have individuals expressly identified (via captions or other text associated with the photograph including the image file name) without explicit permission from the Members and Visitors shown.

Removal of Information

If Members or Visitors wish to have their information restricted from public viewing, they can request its removal by contacting the Church office.

Members Responsibility

It is the responsibility of Willesborough Baptist Church members to follow and respect the Willesborough Baptist Church Privacy Policy.

Willesborough Baptist Church will not give out, sell, rent, lease, or otherwise disseminate members and visitors information to third parties.

Data Protection

We are registered on the Data Protection Register
We will only use information collected from you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
