There are plenty of opportunities
for those with an interest in cooking, and serving, to help with
the various events in church life that involve food and drink.
Each week we open the church for a coffee morning. 'Natters'
provides a time where we, and those from the surrounding area,
can come and enjoy each others company, over a cup of coffee and
some home made cake. Once a month a lunch is provided.
There are always members around to listen and pray for those in
need.
Drinks are often provided after services.
Various activities take place during the year that involve
sharing a meal, whether it be a barbeque in the summer, sharing
a meal before an 'Alpha Course', or celebration times. All help
is gratefully received.

|
We have been blessed
with some very gifted flower arrangers, whose work is appreciated
week by week. They are keen to encourage others to join them. You
will receive a warm welcome and plenty of help, if required.
Church
celebrations provide an opportunity to work as a team, and to create
a display worthy of The Creator.

Gardening |
|
Help is gratefully received from
those with an interest in gardening by those who keep the gardens surrounding the church
and car park.

and Young Peoples Work |

There are always
opportunities for those interested in working with the
children and the youth of the church, whether it be in the
Crèche, Happy Faces Parent and Toddler Group, Sunday
School, or Crusaders.

Those who are older in years
and not so mobile as they once were, are grateful for
all the help they receive from those younger and fitter.
This help can range from collecting them for Sunday
services or ' Natters ' coffee morning or lunch,
shopping or taking them for appointments, or simply
spending time with them. If you would like to help, or
receive help, contact our Pastoral Worker -
June Ashman,
through the church office.Tel.01233 632739 or

Audio - Visual |

Our projection
system allows us the opportunity to hold services
without the need for song books. (song books and
large print copies of songs are available for those
who experience visual difficulties).
We are also able to introduce visual inspirational
material, and bible texts to accompany the sermons.
If you have the appropriate skills and would enjoy
using them as part of our team, you will be made
most welcome. |

Once every 8 weeks, we are responsible for the Sunday
evening service at the William Harvey Hospital.
Patients are brought down to the service by volunteers
from the church who arrive at the chapel at about 4.15pm
to help set up, collect wheelchairs, then go around the
wards to collect the patients who wish to attend.

The service lasts for 30 minutes from 5pm - 5.30pm. The
patients are then returned to their wards for their
evening meal. After returning the patients, wheelchairs,
and tidying up, the volunteers finish no later than 6pm.
New volunteers are always welcome, but will require
'wheelchair training' before being able to bring
patients down from the wards.
