As we share together in
the life of the church at Willesborough, God makes
us aware our responsibility to reach out and care
for each other within the church family , and the
community around us.
There are times in of our lives when we
need the encouragement of someone drawing alongside.
As pastoral worker this is part of my responsibility
within the church and community. A small
pastoral care team is being developed to ensure that
this care and support continues as the church grows. |

Linda is our
administrator in the church office.
When Linda is unavailable to take your calls, we
have an answer phone where you can leave a message
and your contact details, and we will get back to

Mike and Jan Haywood have been
married for more than thirty years.
Their son Alastair is a teacher in
Nottingham. Mike works in
Information Technology for the
international company Givaudan, at
their location in Ashford.
Prior to moving to Ashford, the
Haywoods lived in Amsterdam for
three years. During that time, Mike
served as an elder at
Crossroads International Church
– a dynamic church for the
unchurched, ministering in the heart
of this cosmopolitan city. Mike is a
member of the UK Board of Trustees
of
Christian Associates International,
a mission organisation committed to
reaching the unchurched by
establishing high-impact churches in
the major cities of Europe.
Beyond his involvement in mission,
Mike has both a vision and a passion
for what God can do through the
local church. Mike joined
Willesborough Baptist Church in 2006
and is active in pastoral support,
teaching and encouragement of the
church community. He is also a
strong supporter of the youth
ministry within the church.
Mike has a clear
sense that God is at work in
expanding the church into the
broader community of Ashford, and
feels privileged to contribute and
serve as part of this exciting
growth |

Chris was born in Willesborough and
has lived in the Ashford area for
all but 2 years of his life. He is
married to Alison and has one
daughter, Jodi-Beth. Chris is
involved in several areas of church
life including youth work and men’s
work, and he leads a house group at
his home with Alison. He is a
director of the Christian charity
Tools With A Mission which seeks to
provide tools and equipment to
under-privileged people in the
developing world to enable them to
learn a trade or earn a living.
Chris grew up in a Christian family
and Bible-based Christian
instruction was central to his
up-bringing. He became a Christian
at the age of 15 and gives thanks to
God that, more than 30 years later,
his faith is as strong as ever,
despite many slips and failures
along the way – God’s “amazing
grace” has no limits for those who
trust in Jesus Christ. |
|
|
Doreen has 2
children.
She is responsible for child
protection issues in the church. She
was instrumental in setting up the
Stepping Stones Contact Centre.
Doreen believes that her faith
should be expressed in practical
ways, both in the church and the
community. |

George is married to Mavis, and they
have 2 children.
George is our Church Treasurer,
using his accountancy skills for the
benefit of the church family.
George says his walk with the Lord
is based on his will rather than his
emotions. |

Charles is married to Carolyn and
they have three children: Ashley,
Sammy and Abigail. He helps to lead
the senior youth group, “Extreme”.
He is also involved with Operation
Christmas Child. “God has truly
blessed me; He guides and directs me
in all I do”. Since being baptised
in 1992 Charles has been led in new
directions with new and exciting
opportunities. Being on the
Diaconate is a fantastic way to
assist others, based upon our Lords
teachings.

Libby is
married to Stuart and has two
children. She has a real passion
for Small Groups within church life. Small
Groups meet at WBC to study and
fellowship together. She believes
that the church builds and grows
effectively through these groups
meeting together as we deepen our
relationship with Christ and with
one another. As a result her prayer
is that we all, as one body, are
nurtured to shine Jesus' love to
those we come into contact with as
we reach out to those who as yet do
not know the love of Jesus . As a
Deacon she is being obedient to his
calling and enjoys playing
her part for him in this role. |

Scott and Mel have been married

teaches in a school in Ashford and
joined the fellowship at
Willesborough in 2004, after ten
years at his previous church Scott
enjoys music and is also part of the
worship group.
“I have been made very welcome at
WBC and have gained a lot from the
services and the fellowship. There’s
a great sense of community within
the church and it’s good to be able
to contribute more to the life of
the church and give something back
to God”. |

James is married to Sara. He was born into a Christian
home, and has been part of WBC since
he was 6 years old.
The work and witness of both Sunday
Club and later the Youth group, led
to me meeting the Lord for Myself in
my early teens.
I have received much from God's
family here at Willesborough and
serving on the Diaconate is my
opportunity to give back. |
|
|
Roger is married to Jenny and has
three children, James, Hannah and
Alex, who has already gone to be
with the Lord.
Roger's main concern within church
life is pastoral, caring for the
church family.
He says he is a Christian by
conversion and a Baptist by
conviction. His belief that the Lord
Jesus Christ is his personal saviour
is what makes him want to serve the
Lord. |
